Sylvain Mbezele

General Manager

Sylvain Mbezele specializes in hospitality, which is exactly what you will receive at The McClaren. Sylvain started his career in the hotel industry, working his way up from a banquet houseman, gaining experience in the Food and Beverage sector and was eventually promoted to Hotel Manager. He was Interim General Manager at a Hyatt brand shepherding his team and guests through the Pandemic tirelessly exceeding all expectations, and ultimately earning the moniker ‘The King of Hospitality’.

Before transitioning from Hotel Management to Property Management, Sylvain was Hotel Manager at a Hilton brand. Given the style of hotel living at The McClaren, The Lighthouse Team was excited to entrust Sylvain to take the helm of the firm’s newest luxury community in the Historic West End of Downtown Greenville. Sylvain earned his accreditation as licensed Property Manager-In-Charge, and was integral in the formation of the entire Leadership and Management Team at The McClaren. He looks forward to creating long lasting relationships with the community of Downtown Greenville, and of course the residents of The McClaren.

Luz Parra

Assistant Property Manager

Luz Parra returned to Greenville in 2018 having lived here nearly 16 years ago, and was thrilled to see the bucolic scene that she left transformed into such a vibrant, thriving small city. Luz’s background in hospitality and office administration for over 20 years has cultivated her passion for people and service.

She loves music, dancing, travel, and her family. Through her travels, she has experienced the best of many different cultures around the world. In her eyes nothing beats Southern hospitality and she is a staunch believer that Greenville is an amazing place to visit, live, raise a family, and retire. Those in her presence cannot help but be charmed by her spirit and smile. She is thrilled to be a part of the fabric of both the Greenville community and the lives of The McClaren residents.

Carlos Lara

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Originally from Massachusetts, Carlos Lara started his career journey as an assistant stewarding Manager and function Liaison. Eventually he was recruited into entertainment and hospitality security management. Carlos has cultivated his problem-solving mindset throughout his later career in construction, remodeling, and maintenance. Not only is Carlos mechanically minded, but he has a wonderful way with people. His skilled practical capabilities are matched by his positive, proactive approach to any challenge. In fact, his response is often, ‘No problem!’

Beyond the workday, Carlos is passionate about travel and music, and loves playing the drums. Lighthouse Living, The McClaren Management Team, and The McClaren residents are lucky to have Carlos on the ground making sure the building is running smoothly.

Supporting this effort, our Assistant Manager plays a vital role in resident relations and day-to-day administrative functions. Our Property Manager brings a wealth of experience in overseeing leasing and community development, while our skilled Maintenance Team works diligently behind the scenes to ensure that every unit and common area remains in top condition. Together, this team brings professionalism, care, and a people-first mindset to every aspect of McLaren living.
